Most women are very much affected by the appearance of stretch marks on their skin after pregnancy that it dramatically affects their self-esteem. They worry too much about these unwanted appearances and they resort to all sorts of treatment just to remove those ugly marks on their skin. Usually, these marks will disappear but not immediately. It will take a long period of time before these unsightly marks will become hardly noticeable but the skin’s texture may remain differently colored from the surrounding skin. Many women still notice the stretch marks fading but still appear as whitish lines that are still minimally observed.

There are many creams, lotions and other treatments available for women who want to improve the appearance of their stretch marks. But for those women whose marks are particularly bad, it is best to ask the advice of a doctor or a dermatologist concerning the proper action to be taken for such skin problem. There are topical treatments used by some women such as tretinoin cream which can help reduce stretch marks. However, these creams must be used after pregnancy because they may cause defects to the unborn baby.

A certain soothing body cream developed by Michele brown, MD, an obstetrician, was developed with the goal to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. This cream is made of the unique blend of ingredients that forms a rich and moisturizing cream with hydrating powers.  These are natural ingredients like hyaluronic acid and bio-saccharide gum, along with gardenia tahitensis, coconut oil and pea extract, which are all natural, botanical and herbal ingredients that helps to preserve the skin’s elasticity and suppleness.

Although this product has been tested for allergy, warning is issued to stop its use if irritation is felt and redness or rashes develops. This cream is evenly applied twice everyday to the areas prone to the appearance of stretch marks. Other topical treatments should be used immediately after delivery otherwise creams will be less effective when applied after more time has passed. If this cream is to be used by a breastfeeding mother, it is important to consult a physician before using any stretch mark treatments because some of these treatments may have an impact on the milk supply or may pass through the breast milk to your baby.

Most creams can reduce the appearance of stretch marks but do not relieve the sagging of the skin that accompanies childbirth. However, laser treatments may improve the skin’s elasticity and also help reduce stretch marks. Some women, though expensive, consider plastic surgery after deciding not to have children anymore while others resort to a tummy tuck which can help hide some of the stretch marks and at the same time reduce sagging skin.
